We are pleased to have worked with Liverpool Homeless Football Club on a brand new free website as their prize. They won this in our annual competition for a free website.
Turtle Media ran the competition via their social media pages and attracted attention from Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson who retweeted the competition on Twitter. From 21 entries, the lucky winner was local organisation Liverpool Homeless Football Club (LHFC), who had been trying to secure funding for a new website for over five years.
The new website https://liverpoolhomelessfootballclub.com/ launched on Christmas Eve and has allowed the charity to spread the word about what they do and also invite online donations, a facility they haven’t had before and which has already raised over £220.00 in the first few weeks of launching.
Stephen McConville, one of the owners of Turtle Media said that “here at Turtle Media we had a great start to our trading in 2017, and we wanted to give something back to our community. Running the competition for a completely free website put us in touch with lots of worthy organisations but it was LHFC who put forward the best case in the end. We have nothing but admiration for the work that the LHFC team undertake and are very proud to have been able to help in some small way.”
LHFC have a number of celebrity supporters including John Bishop who is a patron of the charity. An introductory video from John Bishop has been included on the website and talks about the important work that the organisation does.
CEO of LHFC John Finnegan was delighted to have the opportunity to promote the charity via a bespoke new website, stating “from our initial meeting with Turtle Media in November, we have enjoyed the process of creating our brand new website immensely. We focus almost all of our fundraising on supporting our service users so there was never anything left in the pot for a new website, something we knew that we needed to spread the word about our projects further afield and to keep our supporters up to date with whats going on. Winning the competition for a free website has been a dream for us and will make a huge difference to our efforts going forward”.
We have pledged to continue to support LHFC throughout 2018, and help with marketing the website for the rest of the year.
