Overview

Life Sciences Week is an industry-led programme in the West Midlands, bringing businesses, researchers, investors and professionals together across a week of events.

What started as a simple promotional website quickly became the engine behind the whole week. As the programme grew, so did the job the site had to do — from introducing the event to listing, selling and checking in every session.

After a successful first year, Life Sciences Week chose to keep building with Turtle Media as the platform moves into future events.

What we built

One site running the whole week.

Every stage of the attendee journey — finding a session, booking a ticket and arriving on the day — runs through the platform, alongside the hosts who put events on.

01 · Programme

A programme you can browse by day.

Every session across the week sits in one events hub, filterable by day, with dates, times, prices and categories at a glance — so attendees can plan their week in a few clicks.

02 · Bookings

Tickets, payments and check-ins.

Each event has its own page and ticketing, with secure payments and ticket-based check-in on the day — one place for the team to manage attendees from registration to arrival.

03 · Hosts

A self-serve platform for hosts.

Organisations register to host, log in, submit events for approval and manage and check in their own attendees — without LSW staff in the loop, and with every attendee feeding into the CRM.

Mobile

Built for the conference floor.

Attendees check schedules, book sessions and pull up tickets on their phones between talks, so the events hub and ticket pages were designed for small screens first.
